Why is it that when we go to the doctor we get so excited when they call our name right at our appointment time? We go back to the little white room and we think, wow this is going to be quick. And then the pleasant nurse comes in and takes all this information, we like her, she is nice to us and very helpful. She says the doctor will be right in........liar! She leaves you in this small white room that is way too bright with the hope that the doctor will be right in. Now mind you I am sitting there feeling awful with the worst headache I have had in my life.......the nurse leaves shuts the door and then I hear it. Tick Tock, Tick Tock it is the loudest clock I have ever heard in my entire life. I try to distract myself, think about something else, but the noise is making my headache worse. My whole head feels like it is pulsating to the ticks of this clock. After about 20 minutes of this I feel a little crazed and I think what if I just take the batteries out? What if I chuck it out in the hall? Now I have been waiting 30 minutes. Do you think I could put it in the cabinet? Would I still hear it? Am I going insane? I think I am. Now it's been 40 minutes. Are they trying to make me crazy? Is that their goal? I am about to start screaming....my head is pounding....the lights are burning my retinas......and then the door opens. The Nurse practitioner comes in all smiles and how can I help you? And I say, nicely and with a bit of a wild look in my eye I am sure, that clock is the loudest one I have ever heard and could drive you completely insane in this room. She says I know we have thought about replacing it, but it is a perfectly good clock.......it is one of those freebies from some drug company.....for a split second I thought about snatching it right off the wall to prevent some other poor sick soul from being brought to the brink of insanity while waiting for the doctor. See what a fever and a trip to the doctor can do to me.

CRAWDAD ATTACKS AT CROSSWALK!!
On the moist afternoon of Wednesday, September 9th , I took the short walk down the sidewalk to my assigned post as crossing guard. I stood in the hot afternoon sun watching the school buses exit onto the highway. When suddenly out of the corner of my eye I noticed something moving toward the road a few feet from my position on the roadway. Is it a lobster? I don't think so......hmmm I was left wondering. It was approaching the road coming towards the crosswalk....Do I kill it? Is it dangerous to the children? A line of kids is approaching, what should I do? I walk out into the road keeping an eye on this creature from the deep and one eye on the kids. A car approaches and stops just short of the crosswalk and I saw the funniest thing ever in my life, this creature stands almost straight up and acts like it is going to attack the car. The kids have walked across and I walk back to my post waiting for the next batch and I am looking at this creature, which I now realise is a crawdad, and it is still in attack position. I am laughing because these giant cars are passing by it and in it's mind it is probably set for war and then a semi rolled by and it went SPLAT! And I just stood there laughing at the absurdity of it all. Who knew that front page news could happen right there at my crossing guard post.

One step at a time
I am realy amazed at how God works in my life. After the conference in Omaha I was ready to be stretched by God and to grow in so manys ways. Well the joke was on me because all the ways I was prepared to be stretched were none of the ways God was going to stretch me. He really does have a sense of humor.Have you ever been blind sided by something that never should have been a surprise at all? Well that is what definitely happened to me. Scott wanted me to realy step up and preach and take on a more active roll in Revolution Church and I,to put it nicely, freaked out in epic proportions. As I look back months later I have to laugh. You see I never saw myself as that person, sure I knew I was a leader, but preaching? Leading the meeting? that was for qualified people, definitely not me. It is funny sometimes how we percieve ourselves in a completly wrong manner. We look thru our eyes and the worlds instead of thru God's.
I would like to be able to say I have completely overcome and am preaching with confidence but that would not be the truth. But I have taken it one step at a time walking with God putting my faith in Him and trying to lay my life on the alter. I haven't always done it with the right attitude and I have had a freak out or two. The amazing thing is that God knew where I was headed and He put exactly the right people in my life to help me grow and mature. Living with Donnie and Bekah has been one of the ways God has blessed me with an amazing source of strength. And Scott has been wonderful, I know sometimes he just laughs and doesn't know what to do with me. Often these days I laugh at how much alike we are.
I look back over the last couple of years and I think where did I go? And who is this person I have become? I never in a million years would have seen where I am now, preaching, leading, prophesying, teaching, painting, funny how we see our life so small yet if we give it to God he can do so much with so little.
I am going to be preaching for the next month at Revolution Church, not my idea, and it is going to be difficult and very stretching for me. I hold on to the fact that God knows what is best and that He will speak to me. Be praying for me. I will try to be better at posting. Sorry that I have been so lacking, there has just been so much.
